GLI - Jyothirgamaya
As a part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, Grand Lodge of India (GLI), an association of Freemasons, has taken up the initiative to light up 50 villages across remote areas in the country that do not have access to electricity till date. The projects are aptly titled "Jyothirgamaya". Solarsis is executing these projects on behalf of GLI.

The Village Lighting System using Solar PV modules consists of the modules mounted on the ground on steel structures. The modules charge batteries through Charge Controller. At night, after sunset, a Solar Inverter converts the stored DC energy from the batteries to AC current which is used to provide lighting to the village homes. The system is designed with adequate capacity so that lighting loads can be fed on 2 continuous rainy / cloudy days. SOLARSIS has till date successfully completed the electrification of over 8 villages:

Kapparamajji, Andhra Pradesh
The village Kapparamajji in Vishakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh is a Tribal Village inhabited by about 150+ villagers of Preventive Tribal Group (PTG). The village is about 55 kms from the town of Anakapalli. The village has no access to Grid Power as it is situated in the valley surrounded by mountains and has to cross a stream to reach the village. The centralized village lighting system was provided for the individual houses in the village using solar PV modules along with lighting for the local school and a street light. Nalvas, Gujarat
Nalvas is a small hamlet in the Aravalli range, populated by Tribals and is situated near village Dhanpura in Amirgadh Taluka of Banaskantha District in Gujarat. Nalvas is totally cut off as the access to the village is either by foot or by a heavy duty jeep which has to go through the unpaved path. The individual home lighting systems were provided in the village using solar PV modules. Click here for photographs

Kodopur, Uttar Pradesh
The village Kodopur is across the Ganges River in the city of Varanasi, UP. The village has only limited access to Grid Power and around 120+ villagers. The centralized village lighting system was provided for individual houses in the village using solar PV modules along with 10 street lights. Click here for photographs

Karanje, Karnataka
The village Karanje is 105 kms from Belgaum and approximately 45 kms west of Joida in Uttar Kannada District, Karnataka. The village has no connectivity to Grid Power. Mayare, Karnataka
The village Mayare is 105 kms from Belgaum and approximately 45 kms west of Joida and 15 kms from Karanje in Uttar Kannada District, Karnataka. The village has no connectivity to Grid Power. Fhugala, Maharastra
The village Fhugala is situated approximately 105 kms from Mumbai and off about 30 kms from Kasara on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway in Thane District, Kasara, Maharashtra. The village has no connectivity to Grid Power. The centralized village lighting system was provided for 87 individual houses in the village using solar PV modules along with 4 street lights. Aghanwadi, Maharastra
The village Aghanwadi is situated approximately 105 kms from Mumbai and off about 31 kms from kasara on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway in Thane District, kasara, Maharashtra. The village has no connectivity to Grid Power. The centralized village lighting system was provided for 82 individual houses in the village using solar PV modules along with 4 street lights. Ramar Anai, Tamilnadu
Ramar Anai is a small hamlet located deep in the sathyamangalam forest about 70 kms from Erode, Tamilnadu. It can only be reached after trek of 1.5 km. The nearest village is Thalamalai which is about 4km away. The individual home lighting systems were provided in the village using solar PV modules Click here for photographs

Regulagandi, Andhra Pradesh
The village Regulagandi is located in the forest area, 4 kms from motorable road and 8 kms from Manuguru town in khammam Dt, AndhraPradesh. 52 houses situated in this tribal village and the total population is 200. The village has no connectivity to Grid Power.. Now all the houses are powered by centralized solar power system along with  2 street lights. Click here for photographs

Appapur, Andhra Pradesh
The village Appapur is 170 kms from Hyderabad and need to travel 20 kms inside the thick forest of Srisailam Tiger Reserve Area. There are 59 houses  and one Govt school situated in the village. Pallikkadu, Tamilnadu
The village Pallikkadu, to be accessed by trekking about 2 kms from Aladipatti near Salem of Tamilnadu. 44 villagers were benefited by the Centralized solar lighting systems along with 2 street light systems. Click here for photographs

Patragonda, Jharkhand
The village is situated approx 10 kms from Ranchi city. There is a motorable road up to Kanke Lake terminal point and have to walk around 0.5 km to reach the exact village location. The village has full of poor peoples and there is no regular electricity in the village.109 houses electrified and 4 street lights installed for the village. Solar Plant capacity installed is 3.54 Kwp. Click here for photographs

Dharwad, Karnataka
The villages located inside the forest area about 110 km from Dharwad, Uttar Kannada Dt, Karnataka. Totally 39 nos of individual solar home lighting systems installed over 10 villages and 200 tribals  benefited by this project. Click here for photographs

Uppu Pallam, Tamilnadu
Uppupallam situated in the sathyamangalam forest area and near the Bhavani sagar reservoir of Erode District, Tamilnadu. The village is accessible only through reservoir. There are 12 houses electrified through individual solar home lighting systems and approx 50 villagers were benefited. Click here for photographs

Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh
The two villages Shitlapur and Sihuli Parsa situated 95 kms from Gorakhpur, UP. 33 houses of 150 villagers got the benefit of Individual solar home lighting systems. There is no regular state electricity in these villages. Click here for photographs

The village Amrengkona situated Kamrup District of Assam and 73 Kms travel from Guwahati. Totally 96 houses electrified and approx 450 villagers benefited through individual solar home lighting systems. Click here for photographs

Three villages Pimpalaguda, Chilligudra and Salamanda located 45 Kms from Araku of Visakahapatnam Dist, A.P.  The villages situated in the valley surrounded by mountains and about  250 villagers benefited with the Individual solar home lighting systems. Click here for photographs

Vanankulam, Tamilnadu
The village Vanankulam, to be accessed by trekking about 3 Kms from Batlakundu-kodaikanal main road of Dindigul District, Tamilnadu. Totally 46 villagers benefited through Individual solar home lighting systems. There is no state grid power in the village. Click here for photographs

Uppukaramedu, Tamilnadu
Uppukaramedu located in Ambattur, Chennai. 46 houses situated in this village and the total population is 180. There is no state grid connectivity to this village for the past 3 decades and they are using only the hurricane lamps. Chintapalli, Andhra Pradesh
Four villages Yellavaram, Seribalabakkageda, Chemmagedda, and Nadimiveedhi situated near Chintapalli of Vishakhapatnam Dt, Andhra Pradesh. Totally 130 houses of 520 tribal villagers benefited through Individual Home Lighting Systems including 4nos of Solar Street Lights. Click here for photographs

PeddaPadu, Andhra Pradesh
70 houses of 300 tribal villagers living in PeddaPadu village which is surrounded by mountains near Araku valley of Vishakhapatnam Dt in Andhra Pradesh. A Centralized Solar System was provided in this village includes 3 street lights also. Click here for photographs

Street Lighting:
Solarsis has done projects for a large scale installation of over 400 solar street lights in Sri City SEZ, Andhra Pradesh. As a system integrator, for the project, Solarsis was responsible for design, procurement, manufacturer selection and installation of solar street lights. The project was completed within 3 months.
